Not by rail, thumb, dog-sled, or under sail - I am returning to Bolivia with CUSO International. My new role as a Carpentry Advisor in San José De Chiquitos, Bolivia will allow me to share my skills as a Red Seal Carpenter, while helping develop student buisness models and a school product line.
Escuela Taller de la Chiquitania is a project that provides vocational training to young people between 16 - 25 years old. These youth are at risk of social and labour exclusion because they have abandonned thier studies and do not have opportunities to continue in the formal education system. The main aims of the Workshop School (Escuela Taller in Spanish) are to teach skills in trades like carpentry and to see youth succeed.
If you are interested in following the project please do have a look at my blog https://juliezine.wordpress.com/ I will start blogging again in September when I depart for Bolivia. Contained within are a few posts from last year when I was working on a similar project in Sucre.
Cuso International is a development organization that works to reduce poverty and inequality through the efforts of highly skilled volunteers, collaborative partnerships and compassionate donors.
As part of my journey with Cuso International, I am fundraising $2000 to help sustain their vital work and enable them to mobilize volunteers, like myself. I hope you will consider making a gift today in support of my campaign. Together we can give hope and change lives!
Right now, for every $1 you donate the Canadian Government will provide $9. That means a $25 contribution becomes $250 and a $100 gift becomes $1000!
Your donation is sincerely appreciated.
Sincerely,
Julie R. Enman
