Empower others to Empower themselves
Why it is important to me:
As many of you know, I have always had an interest in helping others. I have dedicated my spare time to improving the lives of people facing great challenges with a variety of Charities. This is a passion of mine to apply my knowledge and energy to assist others to achieve their dreams by creating their own successful companies. My dream is to not only help here at home but to help people around the world.
What I will be doing
Recently, I have been selected by Cuso International to mentor small and medium-sized enterprises, for 6 to 12 months, in rural Tanzania to grow their businesses. Cuso International is a development organization that works to reduce poverty and inequality through the efforts of highly skilled volunteers, collaborative partnerships and compassionate donors. I will be advocating and empowering primarily women enterprises to learn the basics of business, apply for micro loans and strategize ways to expand their markets and reach their full potential. I am very excited by this opportunity to have the chance to do what I have always been so passionate about!
How you can help:
But I can't do it without you. Cuso is a charity that needs your help. As part of my journey with Cuso International, I am fundraising $2000 to help sustain their vital work and enable them to mobilize volunteers, like myself. I hope you will consider making a gift today in support of my campaign. Together we can give hope and change lives! Empowering others to empower themselves I believe is a worthy cause.
Right now, for every $1 you donate the Canadian Government will provide $9. That means a $25 contribution becomes $250 and a $100 gift becomes $1000!
Bonus
To make this challenge interesting the top 3 contributors who match or exceed my personal donation of 200.00 will get a private dinner cooked by Robin and myself upon my return and a gift from the people I have helped.
Let's keep in touch:While I am away I will be posting photos, videos and stories about my adventure! You can follow me on my journey and learn more about what you've helped accomplish by periodically checking out my blog (www.blog.ca).
Your donation is sincerely appreciated.
Since 1961, Cuso International has been working to reduce poverty and inequality through the efforts of volunteers, partners, and donors. Each year Cuso International mobilizes hundreds of professionals who volunteer side-by-side with local partners to create positive and lasting change.
