Hello, all my lovely people from far and wide!
As you all know, I come with 2 dominant genes - an excessive crazy gene and a passionate teacher gene! I have done a lot of crazy things in my life and I've also done a lot of teaching in my life! :P
But this time, I have decided to combine these 2 aspects of my soul. To that end, I will be off for the next 10 months, to teach Indigenous Canadian kids in the Northern parts of Canada (where the winters are as cold as -50C!! Yes... MINUS 50!!). I will be living 5 hours from the Arctic Circle, where, during the winter, there are days where the sun never rises, and in the summer, days where the sun never sets. I truly think it will be a great adventure, and a great challenge, all wrapped in one!
I am going because these children and their families have suffered a lot and I am hoping to spend some time with them and try to undo some of the damage that has been done.
I will be volunteering with Cuso International - a development organization that works to reduce poverty and inequality around the world. This is a program funded by the Canadian government and I think it's a fabulous way for me to give back to a country that has accepted me as their own!
As part of my journey with Cuso International, I am fundraising $2000 to help sustain their vital work and enable them to send me on my mission. I hope you will consider making a gift today in support of my campaign. Together we can give hope and change lives!
Right now, for every $1 you donate the Canadian Government will provide $9. That means a $25 contribution becomes $250 and a $100 gift becomes $1000!
Please help me make this world a better place. I will hold you forever in my prayers and I will of course, share updates constantly... so you can meet these children through me! :)
With all my heart, mind and soul - I come to you in complete gratitude.
Thank you. I love you.
Carol :)
